Continental: steer a steady course

Understanding and Preventing Aquaplaning: The Interactive Exhibit

  • 3D printed Continental car as central element
  • Precision motion design creates a driving illusion
  • From trade show highlight to social media success

Challenge and Concept

Continental aimed to demonstrate how its innovative solutions effectively mitigate the dangers of aquaplaning. The challenge was to represent a complex physical problem through an interactive exhibit that would not only clearly communicate the brand’s message but also captured realistic scenarios. All this in a way that would attract visitors!

Our solution: An interactive exhibit combining 3D printing, multimedia technology, and precise motion design. This simulation visually demonstrates the impact of Continental’s technologies in an engaging and informative way.

Development

The exhibit blends cutting-edge technology with compelling storytelling: A 3D-printed model of the “Continental Car” takes center stage on an interactive screen. Precise animated visuals beneath the car’s wheels simulate driving in a virtual environment and realistically illustrate aquaplaning scenarios. RFID tokens allow users to test Continental’s solutions. The animations reveal how these technologies stabilize and ensure safety in critical conditions.

Implementation

The exhibit was seamlessly integrated into an existing Continental standard exhibition unit. Its success extended beyond the trade show floor: The animation was adapted into a social media video, achieving high reach and engagement.

Sustainable and efficient, this interactive exhibit brought Continental’s technological innovations to life and showcased their aquaplaning solutions both at trade shows and across digital platforms.
