Our understanding of sustainability

For us, sustainability means more than just ‘less CO₂’.

We combine ecological, social, ethical and economic principles, throughout all project phases.

  • Since 2022, we have invested over 210 working days in training and process optimisation.
  • Since 2026 we are ISO 20121 certified.
  • Our philosophy: creativity and long-term partnerships instead of “business as usual” and short-term procurement – for better results with fewer resources.

Sustainability starts with the right mindset and is reflected in every detail.

How we implement sustainability in projects

We focus on creative and technical solutions to reduce material use, opt for sustainable alternatives, and design projects with resource efficiency in mind. We work with regional partners and leverage digital formats to shorten transport routes and unlock innovative implementations. By prioritising upcycling, re-use, reduction and take-back systems, we close the loop—delivering sustainable projects with tangible, measurable value

Social Responsibility & Sustainability in Everyday Business

At VRPE, responsibility towards our employees and the wider community is fundamental. We support local, community-focused organisations through sponsorships. Diversity is part of our everyday reality: 54% of our employees are women, as are 50% of our top-managers. Most of our team members are permanently employed; the decision to engage freelancers is made consciously, taking into account the needs and interests of everyone involved.
Sustainability begins with stable relationships. Long-term partnerships at home and abroad are central to our business model. We offer our contract partners, such as assembly teams, long-term cooperation schemes and ensure that our subcontractors guarantee fair working conditions and remuneration.
We invest in energy-efficient buildings and use sustainable materials and consumables. Our main building (2013) is an example of sustainable construction: excellently insulated, air-conditioning-free, and supplied with environmentally friendly district heating. LED lighting, server-based heat recovery and modern piping systems minimise both energy and water consumption.
We prioritise active recycling and waste prevention. Our employees actively seWe ensure optimal utilisation of our machinery and manage our equipment fleet with efficiency in mind. We offer water dispensers without disposable cups and use returnable deposit bottles, avoid single-use plastics, and prepare coffee without capsules. In our workshops, we sort waste such as metal, plastic, wood, and paper, with 60% of wood waste being recycled. We use rechargeable batteries instead of disposable ones.
We ensure optimal utilisation of our machinery and manage our equipment fleet with efficiency in mind. We rent additional devices only when they genuinely add value. Office processes are almost completely digitized and paperless. Our certified cleaning service (ISO 14001) also works in an environmentally friendly manner.
80% of our vehicle fleet is already electric. The majority of our employees commute by public transport, and business trips are also predominantly made by train (company policy).
During construction of our building, we preserved existing trees and planted local species. 50% of our outdoor areas are green spaces, with meadow herbs to support bee populations. Carefully positioned stones maintain habitats for lizards, and our garden maintenance is carried out without chemicals.
With the clear goal of ISO 20121 certification, we are committed to sustainable event management as a living standard and strategic requirement.
